I have owned three rifles in 17 Hornet, a Ruger 77, a CZ527, and Cooper. The Ruger had accuracy issues, but I haven't had any other issues with any of the rifles. A couple of friends had issues with the Savage 25, both replaced them with a CZ527, and have been happy ever since. What I really enjoy about the 17Hornet, is that it doesn't heat up the barrel when used for high volume shooting in a gopher field, and it is effective to at least 250 yards. I started out using handloads with Lil Gun , and switched to CFE-BLK, as it is less sensitive when shooting on a hot day, and it doesn't copper foul.
