I'd be nervous about investing in the .17 Win rimfire myself, seems a little 5mm Rem Mag to this guy, but perhaps it will be successful like the .17 HMR as well. I like the centerfire as the ammo is reasonably priced (I paid less than a buck a round, for VMAX loaded centerfire, that's pretty good). I don't think the Win .17 rimfire will be allll that much cheaper and you're giving up a huge amount of performance. At a hundred yards the .17 Hornet is still faster than the .17 Win Mag rimfire at the muzzle, and it starts with 200 ft-lbs more energy which in a .17 is a lot.

So do you think the gopher that gets it in the mind at 75 yards is going to know weather or not he got from a 17 hornet or a 17 mag? FS

I talked to Wolverine about getting a 527 in 17 hornet, but because it is a CZ-USA rifle, we won't get it here.Probably have to be imported through Prophet River.Pain in the ass bureaucratic bull####.

All CZ usa rifles are the same pieces that come to Canada. More guncounter psycho babble FS

Nope but the guy at 300 yards will.

A difficulty may be if its eventually discontinued. The .17 rem fireball is in many ways superior but never caught on with other gun manufacturers.

.17 Hornet doesn't have that risk, as it's been a wildcat for half a century I believe. Just keep making cases from .22 Hornet like we always have.

As has been said previously, that's pure BS. My local shop has the CZ on order in 17 hornet and once the demand in the US lessens, we should see them up here. Like always, hurry up and wait!
