Hey guys~visited this store for the first time tonight, and while I'm tempted to blab about my impressions of the place...I'll cut to the chase~they have rimfire ammo, specifically, Hornady 17M2. ($9.99 for a box of 50) They had some Federal .22, Winchester 333, Remington buckets (limit 1) and a few others. Seemed to be a good amount of HMR, and a couple of .22WMR options. No CCI SV, and the guy at the counter said they never did have it (store has only be open about a week).

So ammo~they have some, especially my beloved 17M2. The body cavity search to get it out of the store? The guy at the gun counter checks your PAL (understood) but writes nothing down. Puts the ammo in a locked, green canvas bag. Once you reach the cash, they ask you to produce your PAL a second time, they then scan it! (?) Not cool to see your name pop-up on the computer screen. I don't like the idea of my name being written in the big ledger-like book at my more local shop, but I get the impression nobody really looks at that. To have a digital record of my ammo purchase? Doesn't sit well to be quite honest. Anyhow, thought I'd give you all a heads-up. I know there are some M2 lovers in Ontario. :)

Bought a shotgun at cabellas.... gave the sales guy my pal, he punched some stuff in the computer and then commented on the fact that I live in the same neighbourhood as him. It was my first ever purchase at Cabelas. I am wondering if they have access directly to Pal info? A little scary.

Too much bending over to get ammo for my likes. Glad I live in red-neck country. Bought some 9mm at Cabelas in Edmonton....only the cashier asked to see my pal. She just glanced at it and handed it back.

How long ago was that 6MT? Would be interesting to know if they have a different policy for this province. Granted, the Liberals (feel dirty just typing that word) just won ANOTHER majority here....

If cabelas didn't record you pal for an ammo
Purchase in Ontario, they would be breaking
The do nothing feel good ontario ammo registry =(

Agreed....and I know they have to record it, just FEELS a little less intrusive to see a scribble in a ledger than knowing it exists as a digital file. Which is easier to access/share/hack? Speaking of the ledger, my local shop even uses a pc. of paper to shield the names of the people on the list above where my name/PAL info is being written. So, clearly, even though it's the low-tech way....the law is being followed and privacy is being respected.
