I've found that Superformance is not good ammunition for any semi auto. It is too hot for the action and makes them cycle poorly.
My Modern Hunter does the same thing with it. If I run factory 129gr Superformance it cycles so hard that it becomes unreliable and damages the brass, but if I run the same projectiles in my handloads using H4350 or IMR4451 the rifle cycles perfectly and is 100% reliable.
When it comes to semi auto rifles we need to think differently than we've been taught with bolt guns. There is a lot more to consider with a semi than just picking the heaviest projectile the twist rate will stabilize.

Sounds like the WK180 is very similar to my Bushmaster ACR when it comes to barrel swaps. Just because it shares dimensions with the AR doesn't mean it's cross compatible. The gas system on the ACR is more efficient than an AR-15 gas system so putting an AR-15 barrel in results in overgassing, this sounds the same.

Just to clarify before you make any decisions. Our barrels are finished complete by IBI... MRA barrels are IBI blanks and finished by MRA. Both are obviously high quality IBI barrels, but just wanted to be clear on the finisher for each.

Thanks for clarifying that. I meant to type IBI (from RWA), not MRA. Did some digging around the web, and it seems that some have complained about poorly finished chambers on their MRA-finished barrels. I'm sure it's a rare event, but not one that I'm interested in gambling on.

I had a few boxes of Superformance sitting around for a bolt gun I no longer have. It was a 1in8 twist and the ammo shot surprisingly well out of it. Sold gun and had ammo left so I figured I'd try using it up in something else.

Tried it in my XCR-L and it cycled pretty hard so I turned the gas way down. It would then cycle smoothly but it grouped like garbage. XCR is 1in9 so that may be part of the problem with poor grouping.

Tried it in my Modern Varmint and it cycled just OK but not as smooth as other ammo. Accuracy was mediocre at best.

Tried it in the WK180-C with original barrel and gas system and it was absolute garbage. I was quite surprised when I changed the barrel and gas system length on the WK that it became useable. It's still not amazing but it is decent enough that it is useable.

So basically my experience with Superformance in semi-autos echoes yours. Most times it really sucks and when it doesn't suck it's still not great.

My Modern Hunter also groups Superformance like garbage.

The grouping was not the twist rate. I've found that at 100 yards twist and bullet weight have very little effect on groups. I've shot lots of different combos at 100 yards and it's not till you start stretching out the distance that you really see the effect of twist and projectile compatibility. It does effect the groups but it's not why the gun prints 5 moa groups with one type of ammo and is 1 moa with something else.
Superformance is faster but faster is useless without accuracy. I quit buying Superformance since I haven't found a rifle that groups well with it yet.
