1895 replica
I have one of the grade 1 rifle replicas manufactured in Japan by Miruko (sp) for USRAC/Winchester branded in 1995 in 30-06. Accurate, a bit heavy, acceptable recoil-a bit sharper than the 45-70. Shotgun style butt. Nice smooth action. No optical sights available that I am aware of. There is some kind of Lyman available but is it needed?? A bit of a pain to load with cold fingers. I like the tang safety (until I forget to move it to the shoot position) as it has a familiar feel to my double shotguns and with cold wet hands I believe it is safer. The hammer is the rebound type. ya ya I know, I still like the old ones too and at least it is not a cross bolt safety ... . Great range of ammunition available for the 06 at reasonable prices.
It is a really nice addition to my original 1886 in the lockup. Go for it, you will love it. The carbine model looks great.
