Anyone know anything about these? They are an odd silverfish colour. They don’t measure a full .308. IMG_2679.jpeg

I have lots of .3065" 85grn cupronickel jacketed bullets pulled from old surplus Czech x25 ammo. Maybe some relation? They look just like that but obviously much shorter.

Old thread resurrected maybe but I’ve come into a bunch of these exact bullets. I used a file to section one lengthways.

Mine too are just a hair under .308, I beleive .306 or .307 somewhere in there.

They are cupronickel plated mild steel jacketed with the lead core. Straight cupronickel is NOT magnetic at least not to a normal fridge magnet (some will say otherwise, they are mistaken, a lot of cupronickel bullets from before ww2 do actually have mild steel jackets under the plating which I suspect is where this misconception comes from) These ones are magnetic.

My research has lead me to conclude that they are almost certainly intended for 7.5 Swiss, and even more specifically likely designed around the older and rarer 7.5x53.5 Swiss cartridge as opposed to the much more common 7.5x55. They are nearly identical either way.
