1911 9mm?

I placed an order through The Shooting Edge. They're essentially importing one for me. I should know on monday when and how much. The guys at Kodiac and Arms East should also be able to get them.

If you don't mind, let me know how you make out with TSE on Monday. I've had a DW Valor on order with them since last summer... I don't think they deal direct with DW in the US, but I could be wrong.

krausb, can do! If I don't get the answer I want I'm going to try Kodiac next.

please let us all know how this turns out. I really want one. DW's are so hot!!!! I especially love the ones withought the ribbing in the front of the slide. They are some of the cleanest looking 1911's ive seen. I would just love one of the razorbacks in 9mm, but sadly ive only seen them in .45 and 10mm.

So I stopped by The Edge today and had a quick chat with Jay. He told me they're only just starting production on the Guardian (which I knew), and after filling the American orders I probably won't see mine until mid summer. I was expecting, at a minimum, three months anyway. That is the latest. What do you guys think, is it worth trying Kodiak?

This is just my 2 cents, but I would call Walt at ArmEast tomorrow morning. I was talking with him last week and he orders his DW direct. I am fairly confident that he could get you one as quick, or probably quicker, than anyone. I was asking about a V-bob, and if I pre-ordered one he was fairly certain that he could get me one and I would have it in under 3 month. That's pretty good in my books. And Walt is always a pleasure to deal with.

Yeah, Jay did say something about the "importer" not having any. I've never dealt with Arms East before, but I'm going to give them a call tomorrow. As per your advice, I'll ask for Walt.

Walt is the owner of Arms East and he will definitely treat you right. When you call just remember that he is in Newfoundland and they are 3.5 hours ahead. So call early.

I usually try to buy what I can through TSE, but sometimes they don't seem to have access to some items that another dealer does. But that's ok, they still seem to get their fare share of my paycheque!

I understand. I just Googled the DW Gaurdian and it is pretty sweet looking. I don't know if it's $1500 US MSRP type sweet, but sweet none the less.

It's priced like a high end Kimber or Springfield, but it is a semi-custom hand built 1911 that sells for hundreds less than a Wilson or a Nighthawk. It is actually a bargain even at full MSRP. Trust me, it is $1500 MRSP sweet and then some. ;)

I've been shooting 1911's on and off for twenty five years. I've (or my dad) have had expensive ones, cheap ones, custom built ones, semi custom ones, you name it. According to my experience, the DW's are a bargain. Look at a Nighthawk and then look at a DW. Same accuracy, same build where it matters to performance, and finished nearly as well; for half the money or less. But, that's just my experience/opinion.

Spoke with Walt at Arms East this morning, he seems like a good ####. He confirmed that TSE did contact him about the Guardian, and he expects to have them in Canada in under three months. The price was a little higher than I was expecting, but not out of line at $19xx, I don't remember the exact figure. So, that's the latest.

Guardian is an alloy framed gun.
