Took the 45's out today thought I would post a few pics. This was my first time taking out the Colt and couldn't be happier with it. Also my first 1911 I have owned 80 series Gold Cup Trophy.

Pics no workin'...if this is your first time trying to post pics, you'll need to go through the sticky on how to do it. You need to go through an off-site pic storage site like Photobucket to get them to show...

Haha exactly what I was going to say get both. It is hard to say which one I like better because they are so different. The glock has a special place in my heart because it was my first handgun and It fits my hand better then anything I have ever picked up. The Colt on the other hand shoots amazing and has a cool factor for me over the glock. If one day we were able to carry in Canada  then I would take the glock over the 1911 as a carry. Going to the range and shooting targets I would rather take the Colt but that is also what this model is designed for.

Instead of spending your hard earned money on both and then soon after, selling one while taking a financial hit I would tell You - rent them.
Visit your local shooting indoor range and have quality time with each of them.
Don't worry about one being more accurate than the other.
Mechanically these are probably capable of the same accuracy, however mastering Glock trigger may take a bit longer.
1911 is classic, good looking pistol. If properly made it will last forever and is very easy to customize.
Glock on the other hand is extremely easy to take apart, dead reliable and super resistant to elements.
Cost of ammo is always a factor - remember about it, if You planning to shoot a lot.

Not many rental ranges in canada....maybe take a trip south if you want to do that...or find a local nut who has one or both and shoot for the cost of ammo and a coffee afterwards ;)

I've seen two in Calgary and I'm sure that there are at least one in Edmonton.
One of the Guys asking was from Sherwood Park, so I'm sure he can rent both of these fine firearms.
Otherwise I'm assuming that You are right.

Yah I don't know any rentals on the island probably in Vancouver somewhere though. I had shot 1911's before so I knew that I wanted one and jumped on this one because it was extremely low round count at a shop because the shop had a theft then got all the guns back and blew them out the door. Figured I couldn't go wrong with a Colt and so far that has paid off. There were a lot of nice 1911's though that's for sure.

Hey, pics are workin'!! I think I didn't wait long enough for them to load the first time - computer at work, after a couple of minutes I just saw gray boxes. Here on my home 'puter, they all popped up after waiting a few seconds.

Anyway, I'm a huge Colt 1911 fan AND Glock fan - I have one new-generation Glock 22, and several Colt 1911A1's. So, I think the combo that you have is a win-win. That Colt looks fantastic!

I think you've got the best of both worlds there. Well done!
