I bought two used 1911 mags recently. Lots of wear and not much bluing left. The serial numbers on the bottom is 50301 and 66634. I can't find any site that can tell me what the numbers mean, but these are very ordinary mags in appearance other than the heavy usage. 5 holes on either side to indicate how many rounds are loaded, no markings on the top of the lip, don't know what else I can say. No markings other than the numbers on the bottom of the mag.

Could they be military magazines? If so, when were they made? What might they be worth even though they're heavily used? Worth anything as a collector's item? I tried using them in my 1911 already and one of them could barely fit. Almost got it stuck. The other fit but had to be pulled out and wouldn't fall freely when magazine release was depressed. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

They are likely Argentine [aka Colt] Model 1927 [Model 1911A1] magazines. Argentina made 1911A1 pistols under licence from Colt. They usually had at least one magazine numbered to the pistol. The pistol's themselves were unusual as the slide and barrel also had the serial number of the frame as well. Likely that's what you have there.

Post a pic of the mag bottoms and someone will confirm that for you.

NAA.

They have little or no value to a collector or a shooter in the condition you describe.
Mags are the cheapest part of a 1911 purchase but they need to be of high quality if you want them to perform as they should. My advice--toss these well worn ones away. They are not worth stewing about.
