hello all!

Question to the owners of:

para's gi expert
springfield's gi
and STI Spartan

what do you think of them??? i want a 45 1911 and stuck choosing between these three models.. all are in the sam price ranged just wondering how each compared to the other? opinions very much welcome and encouraged! (FYI my first 1911) so be gentle hahaha

my personal choice and advise will be always:
buy a Kimber 1911 and if you cannot find one ...look again for a Kimber ....LOL
from your three 1911 ....I'll go for the STI Spartan/Trojan

thanks for the opinions... a kimber would be nice however i like the price point of these three handguns. and want to be able to afford some customization later on down the road haha

You should have your list in reverse order. Go for the STI Spartan, but if you can wait and save some more coin buy the STI Trojan.
All of them will not be perfect out of the box but the STI will require the least work to get it to your expectations.

 Kazimier

I have had both Springfields and Paras, I would buy another springfield. Para cote blows and there customers service to, I found this out the hard way with my GI Expert.

If you can get a "canadian made" para!!! I have one f$%king great.

and its made in canada!!!!!!!

whats better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me, I'd go:

1. Spartan from Armco
2. Springfield GI

3. Para GI Expert - Personally, I'd prefer not to own a Para but if I did it would be one via Armco.

i have a similar recent thread (about a 1911 for IDPA) and the STI Spartan gets the vast majority of votes (albeit amongst a different group of guns)

I've got a Norinco, but I bought it to mess with, so its always apart and I'm trying some tinkering trick I've read about or whatever I feel like doing.

I plan on a Springfield next, and not really messing with it.

I've heard alot of negative about Kimbers recently, if I were to buy a 'fancy' 1911 I'd go with a Taurus.

I can't say anything about the other two makes listed, but my Springfield G.I. and Milspec have both been great. I haven't had any issues with either, and their fit and finish are superior to the other "entry level" 1911s I've played with (in my opinion).

i think Freedom and Ellwood Epps are the two i've seen STI at. i'd guess that stock changes monthly, so it could be either-or. i'll be joining the STI Spartan club soon enough too (1-3 months)
