Just got my new grips from DL Sports. Great service from them, and Dave got the grips shipped out within a few days:

Haha, I know, these grips won't sit well with a lot of 1911 enthusiasts, but it's not like it's a permanent modifcation so no harm done, just a little fun. The girps are aluminum and although they are not exactly like the ones shown on their website (http://www.dlsports.com/watchmen_smiley_face_1911_grips.html), I'm still happy with the ones I got. They feel smooth (maybe a little too smooth for some), and the finish on them is pretty nice.

I do like the original grips that came with the R1 so I may switch it up sometimes.

I like your case

$50 from Cabela's. It was $20 more than a Plano twice as big so so I figured what the hell, extra 20 bucks, why the hell not. At the time, they only had the tan, but it's growing on me......so much so that I went back and got the 1750 in tan as well, haha!

Not a big fan of the grips huh?

WWI era USGI M1912 Pistol Belt & Rig

Just recently scored this "nice condition for it's age" WW1 era Model 1912 pistol belt & rig.

Belt is LCC & Co mfg 1918 dated [so faded on reverse wouldn't photograph]:

Changed out my Kimber Desert Warriors MSH for an Ed Brown Magwell and some VZ O2 grips. Much better now.

Very nice! I have a Kimber Desert Warrior and love the thing but had to do some work to get it 100% reliable. Did you ever get early slide lock? Rounds still in the mag but slide locking back? Works amazing now. I have a Wilson Combat Bulletproof slidestop installed among other things. Still need to get around to getting a magwell. Another thing, for the price of the gun why in the world didn't they do some front strap checkering! I have Pachmayr wrap around grips on mine so I guess it doesn't matter. lol
