1911's Pics Thread

Matched pair! (sort of). The GI Springfield was the first pistol I bought about a day after I received my RPAL, been looking for another to go with it ever since. Other things always got in the way, but not this time! soon to have a set of repro GI type grips and a surplus short thumb safety like my first one. Maybe its time to make a couple of sets of sweetheart grips again.

First time this one runs without a hiccup at the range.
The mags finally got the memo.
So it deserved to get back here in its dirty glory.

Crappy iPhone pic, but it was fun :)

Springfield 1911A1 GI frame that I fished off the EE awhile back. I completed it using parts from the spares box. Was using it predominantly as a "lower" for a Colt .22 conversion unit.

Just picked up a complete factory Colt Series 70 "Government" .45ACP upper off the EE to use with it now, too:

Just enough blueing off to give it some character:

That's is just awesome.

Picked up an older Springfield NM serialed Defender from a member here, apparently I have a thing for Springfields!

Mulling over the idea of an older style M-45 MEU clone, not sure if I'm ready to start stamping numbers in all the parts though!

As it sits now (after some parts swapping). I'm taking some liberties with the MEU specs, as there are alternate parts I prefer over what the Marines use.

Don't care for ambi safeties or beavertails. Pretty much the same as my Mil Spec for now.
