1911's Pics Thread

Just received this SR1911 a few weeks ago:

They look great. Good win

Thanks. They actually just arrived in the mail about 30 minutes ago and I just finished installing them on my SR1911. I'll post some pics when I get an opportunity.

Also, I can see that you have a Sig Sauer 1911-22 in FDE. I'm trying to decide between that or a 1911 22 conversion kit as my next purchase. How is the Sig Sauer?

I'd go with the GSG instead of the conversion kit. I haven't had a chance to shoot the Sig yet but its pretty much a GSG with different badging on it.
It's a bit picky with ammo but no complaints at all. Absolute favorite.

ccain, your Ruger looks great with those Punisher grips. I just purchased my first 1911 recently (actually my first ever hangun), a Sig Sauer 1911 Nightmare 45 ACP, and I checked out the grips from the supplier you got your grips from but they dont seem to have any that would fit properly on the Sig....for now.

Thank you. Does your Sig 1911 not allow standard 1911 grips to be mounted? If you can mount standard grips, the eBay seller has another custom pair similar to mine up for auction. You can check it out here

That pic makes me wanna to shoot my ANVIII pretty bad...
But x2 what's up with them sights?

I had the factory GI sights replaced with a Harrison's Retro rear and a Colt patridge front sight. I sent the slide to the Colt Custom shop to get the work done. Long story but I can send you a link to the forum where I discussed it. PM me.

1914 Government Model. Finally installed my new front sight the other night, my attempt at "restoring" this pistol is pretty much complete. It had target sights installed at some point in its life, and has had a few unfortunate modifications done that I may or may not get around to fixing. The slide was polished and refinished in the past, so its definitely not a pristine example. However, its still an early CEF pistol, so I'm happy to have it.

It now sports a set of repro stocks, a semi-custom set of period(ish) sights, a correct 1914 barrel as well as misc small parts I scrounged from another donor 1914 CEF pistol.
