1911's Pics Thread

Interesting 1911...

An interesting 1911 I just picked up...

Caspian Frame w checkered trigger guard
Colt walnut grips, stainless hex grip screws
Colt Series 80 Gold Cup Nat'l Match Slide
National Match Bull Barrel
Match Trigger
Tungsten Guide Rod with Reverse Plug
Chip McCormick hammer/sear
High rise beaver tail
Smith & Alexander mag well
Fiber Optic front site
Ambi thumb safety
Extended mag release
Smooth as butter action with sweet trigger pull...

Was a custom done up by a fella whose work I highly respect. He is moving up to a much higher end 1911 and wanted to free up some cash.

My gain....

Here is my Commander.

Had it rebuilt in the mid 90's by a VERY good pistol smith who passed away.

Caspian frame, Nowlin Match barrel, Bo-mar rear sight, night site in front, full length guid rod, etc.,etc....

Colt Gold Cup Trophy. Gunnar put a EdBrown beavertail on it for me because I was not a fan of the duck bill that it comes with. I enjoy a higher grip. Guess what room had the best lighting to take my pictures in? :D

SS guns are hard as hell to take pictures of, but I think these two came out the best.

Enjoy.

1945 mfg USGI "resto"...

Might as well add this old beast that I have up on the EE right now.

It's a "resto" of a 1945 USGI. Early 1945 Ithaca frame that has a later "SA" [Springfield Arsenal] refurb proof, with a Colt replacement slide. United States Property and M 1911A1 US Army stamps are clear.
