1911's Pics Thread

Here's the "big four" WWII USGI production 1911A1 .45ACP's.

Top [l-r] 1942 Colt; 1943 Union Switch & Signal.

Bottom: [l-r] 1944 Remington Rand; 1945 Ithaca.

Wow! each of those on their own is a perfect example of a 1911, but to have one from almost each year of the war, all from different manufacturers in that condition is unspeakably incredible. You sir have the nicest collection of 1911's I have ever seen!

I picked up this Auto Ordnance 1911 as a GI shooter for my collection. The action and trigger was really rough and gritty when I got it but it's been given the royal treatment.

Auto-Ord 1911A1 "GI" clone....

Danny - Love the looks of 'em. Local shop brought in a bunch & I was all set to pick one up, too. Externally, they are very close to an authentic 1943 vintage 1911A1 in looks. However, I just can't get over the Series 80 type [firing pin] safety system interally. The should've left it out of it. :(

But I can see the point of having one as a "shooter" as to not put wear & tear on the real deal USGI's in the collection...... ;)
