1911's Pics Thread

I've come to agree that sanding my gun was a pretty dumb idea, it hadnt started to rust yet but i didnt want to take a chance, so i got some brownell gun paint and my Norc 1911 got a makeover....again.

Before (ugly)

Another nice example of a classic Colt, looks like it was well taken care of. Nice lines and finish on it. :)

Thought it about time I posted this one. A 1968 mfg Colt Government 1911A1 .45ACP that I've owned for many years.

Yes, I have the proper factory grips for it, too. Unfortunately, it came with the "noob scratch" when I bought it back in the day.....

didn't you put it on sale too?
looks 9999 times better than when you sanded it down

No it's not mine, but i've never gotten such a hard on from a setup, and I couldn't keep myself from posting. Odd love for a stock gun. Naturally I like something a little darker, but...well...this is just beautiful. My Colt pics will be up soon.

Maybe it's just the lighting in the pic but your '42 mfg Colt looks blued as opposed to parkerized. Has it been refinished?

And the thumb safety is modern [not a WWII era USGI part]..... ;)

Norinco NP29 1911A1 9mm

The NP29 I scored off the EE a short time ago.... I have only added the double diamond hardwood grips:

With my first N29 also scored off the EE:
