Couple of series 80's

Couple more... .45 and .40 cal. I've gained a new appreciation for the 1911's.
Maybe it's just a phase?

Just a pair of Norinco 1911's (Duracoated Matte Black), triggers and extra Chip McCormick bits and pieces. They were fun to build. Just some minor tweaks and they should be just about done ...

A buddy of mine did this up... Formerly Norinco... now a little bit of everything. I especially like the undercut on the slide.

He did a rather nice job!

Thanks for the comments on the Norinco Guys...

Here's a top shot of the same gun.

Now THAT is a Freakin sweet Norc!!! Is that the original Norc slide? Man, provide us more info.....I may just have to follow your lead on my Norc!

It started out as a new in box Norinco... Slide, Frame etc... all the other parts that have been added are custom. The gunsmith Loves Norinco steel, says there's nothing harder out there. The undercuts were mostly to remove the factory lettering... the outcome is a great looking gun.
PM Me and I'll get you his information if you're interested.
Thanks again,

Garbal

thanks.
it was pretty easy, free oak pallet, dads tools, dads tung oil, $10 can of varathan, and 5 or 6 hours of time. just go slow for your first time ;)

In 1980, when I bought the gun, Colt called the finish, Electroless Nickel. I think that was simply nickel plating that had a matte surface. Shortly after I bought the gun, I had the slide ported and fluted and the MMC combat sights added. The pistolsmith that did the job refinished the slide to match the frame, and I assume he applied a finish identical to the factory finish. In any event the slide and the frame matched perfectly when I got it back, and they match perfectly today, 25 years later.

I have a Colt Python of the same vintage with the identical finish.

I kind of like it!
