Unique 1911 NAA. I see somebody got the front strap
Its an odd trigger too.
Yes, long ago & in a galaxy far, far away when early Colt USGI's and early Commercials were seemingly in 'endless' supply people [and I use the term loosely] thought these old beauties would make good starters for 'custom' 1911's....![]()
This one started out life as a Colt Commercial Government 1911, serial number C 12,### [mfg 1914].....
Front strap has been 'stippled'....![]()
Mainspring housing had the lanyard loop cut off and then flat was 'stippled'...
Very nice trigger job but original Colt hammer has been shaved flat on sides...
Original grip safety replaced with 'long tang' grip safety...
Original long trigger has had a wide trigger shoe added....
Original double diamond grips replaced with plain checkered ones...
Slide 'lengthened' by 1", 6" barrel fitted with custom bushing....
Bomar adjustable rear site with integral rib installed...
Custom front site dovetailed into front of lengthened slide....
Other than that it's pretty nice....![]()
Hey those are a lot of unhappy faces....She's still a Colt!!! Yeehaaa!![]()
Jim Clark Sr. custom Colt Series 80 "Bowling Pin" model, in 45ACP. The finest 1911 I've ever had the pleasure of owning.

Thanks Paul! If I decide to sell the Ithaca, you'll have first dibbs and NAA can have dibbs on the US&S. Aheh! I've got one 1911 enroute that I'll share a pic or two once it arrives...
