I’ll admit I was surprised by how great these are. Forged frames, series 70 triggers, excellent fit and finish, no unsightly graphics.
Tisas makes an excellent 1911. I bought one too. I didn’t buy mine site unseen though, kudos to all of you who did. I suggest you will be impressed on receipt once your transfers go through!
 
I have 1911 4140 chrome moly and 420 stainless steel slide forgings in stock however, that is it. Anyone who can machine them into complete slides?
 
I was speaking to Prophet River a couple days ago and they are expecting quite a few 1911 consignments from large collections to be listed through the store soon.
They were unable to provide details on which 1911's but it might be worth watching their website in the next couple of weeks.

So I just got my R/PAL yesterday and immediately snagged that Colt 1911 70 Series from Solely Outdoors at $1799.99...I'm excited but also disgusted with myself lol

Was considering the CZ Shadow 2 but I've always wanted a 1911 and I know Colt is a great manufacturer, just wish it was a little more fairly priced (thank you credit card points helping out lol).

Contemplated waiting to see if another version of the 1911 would come in, but given the ban is likely to be go into effect within the next month (I think they said Sep), I didn't want to chance it.

I'm so glad someone else bought the Colt Classic at Solely Outdoors. I was tempted to overpay for the pony. I already bought a springfield mil spec which mechanically is the same, but no pony.

I was looking at the same colt for a few days.. drooled, but thankfully some other rich bastard overpaid for it. wallet safe for now. I haven't been able to find reasonably priced colt 1911's anywhere else.
