1911's to many to choose

wow, do I ever agree with this title. I really want a 1911. I think I'll probably just end up going with a colt. I do like the looks of the stainless Ruger though

If you've got money go for a Colt Series 70. If not, get a Norinco and customize it to your liking. Middleground Springfield Mil-Spec.

The 1911 business is good, yeah?

I should join in...source some parts from Asia, have a gunsmith customize a few things...$1000.

This one works good.

I put a mag in it , pull the trigger , goes bang.

Reload.

No fuss no drama.

Just bought a Kimber Custom Crimson. Awesome gun. Great quality. The only thing I don't like is the fact that the main spring housing is made of plastic. Nothing $90 can't fix.

Sigs are fine for casual use, but they are not a pistol for serious use.

I would trust my life to my Sig 1911 Target. And I did change all 3 MIM parts that were in it. Even if they were no signs of wear and tear after 3000 rounds.

I even sold my glock after the groupings this Sig gave me. Its also the gun I keep in my sock drawer in my bedroom if the need to protect my family arises

Disconnector
firing pin stop

The only gripe I have with this gun is the color of the extractor. Its not a S/S part but a nickle plated carbon. Emailed EGW and they told me the carbon extractor is stronger then the S/S one thats why I keept it....

I love EGW and the honesty, saved me from buying a part I didnt need... EGW makes allot of parts for SiG 1911 and so does Greider. So I dunno why 1riot1ranger has a hate for them....

Everyone has an opinion... as soon as people called him on it, he disappeared. That's a nice SS Sig 1911. Still looks like new with a bunch of rounds through it.

Shnitzl,

I've bought and sold serveral 1911's over the years. I never really hung onto one particular 1911 for too long as I never found one that I could call mine. I mean, aside from fit and finish they were all the same basic 1911 for the most part. Then last year at ShotShow I stumbled across the Remington 1911 R1 Enhanced and had to have one. I mean, this one takes the cake. Remington did a great job on this one, taking all the great traditional things about the 1911 and adding a few of their personal touches. Price point is going to be between $800-$900 depending on where you get it from (Reliable has them for $839). Right out of the box it was flawless, shoots beautifully, super smooth action. I can't get enough of this gun.

There are some great 1911's mentioned above but my vote is definitely for the R1 Enhanced.

You guys don't sure didn't read my posts very well.

As I said, I've got 2 Sig 1911s. (I'll post pics later today)

I never said they were junk. I said the internal parts are lower quality and I replaced them. The resident gunsmith at Gunsite (who modified my XO while I was on a course there) validated this. He sees the insides of more 1911s than anyone here.

As to "disappearing" - get lost. I don't live online... 3.5k posts in 2 years? When do some of you guys find time to shoot?

also: I've posted round counts for my guns and identified failures associated with them. Showing a nice tight group slow fire group from 15 yards is great, but what does it really tell us about the performance of a pistol?

Hammer, sear, hammer strut, sear spring. Trigger is complete crap - stripped the over-travel screw by sneezing on it.

I liked this post... too funny! Don't sneeze in your hands, might lose a finger  Instead of being sarcastic why don't you tell everyone the part #'s and how it's improved function of your Sig that came with inferior internal parts... Bold statements are pretty worthless without pics of before and after, part #'s and reasons why they were changed.

I already posted all of the above information.

Later, troll.

Wow, that's rude. Just asking for the specific upgraded parts with their Company and Part #'s so I can upgrade mine or for any other Sig owner, but it sounds like you don't want to help.

(Not disagreeing with you, just asking for more info...)
