1949 SKS went very fast

So,, if I put my 49 up on the EE, would I expect around $650? It is good shape and frankenpinned never fired refurb orig from Westrifle about 2.5 years ago. Sitting in the safe?

The way the mag is pinned doesnt make such great difference on price. The things that matter the most are correct parts, proper finish(blued) and a nice 49 with spike bayonet should have the correct slim stock, not one cut for a blade and altered to accomodate the spike bayo. I got 4 1949 over the years, my first one had a blade bayo, all parts correct and original barrel and was refurb painted. Second i got had correct parst and barrel spike bayo but the stock used for refurb was for a blade bayonet so the groove was cut to accept the spike and the rifle was painted. Two last i got had correct parts, slim hardwood stock with the proper spike bayonet cut, original barrel and blued finish. Only difference between the two was a refurb stamp on one, otherwise, nicest exemple to show up in my opinion. I kept one that i will never sell because if thoses kind of 49 show up they will be more expensive to get. Its all about condition and how bad a potential buyer want one.

I have to look again but mine has all the stuff except maybe the stock not sure will check! Cool rifles but I wouldn't fire mine and have decided, if I am not going to shoot a gun I will sell it and get one I will shoot!

My '49 (dust) collector. The hardest gun for me to justify keeping, as it is the only gun I own that doesn't get shot.

Just looked at mine, first time in a year, so, it has the right groove for the spike but the stock is laminated, looks better than I remember!

My 1949 has no refurb stamp on it anywhere. All numbers match.
It does have a laminated stock, so that indicates (to me anyway) that it's a refurb.
It has the 90* gas block and spring-loaded firing pin.
Shoots much better than my 1952 & 1953

I had a 1949 refurb (all are), with the proper fitting laminate stock. It was a stunning beauty and I stupidly sold it. Regret it now. It was also very accurate.
