well Foxer and myself decided seeing the weather here was just the craps to take my son who just passed his core this spring in BC out for his first deer hunt, he bought a new remmy 700sps in 270wsm and using 140gr accubonds we headed into region 7 were there is a youth mule deer doe season, 20 minutes after daybreak he put the stock on a small heard of doe's after getting about 25 yards away he got into a downed poplar tree set up and let her have it, was a perfect bang flop, she didnt move an inch!

The young lad must have learned stalking skills from his Mom eh Bonez;)

Congrads guys. Now Bonez with that kind of stalking skill you better buy the lad a 30-30 too

Very nice .......Where I come from, the one who shoots the deer gets the deer cleaned for him/her, kinda like getting a reward for doing a great job. Then again, maybe that was only my Uncle's rules since he probably figured he would do most the shooting back when I was a kid.....and looks like I fell for it

Congrats to your young lad. I'm still waiting for the day I'll go on my 1st deer hunt (32 years old and counting), and am honest enough to say that 1: I don't know if I'll be able t pull the trigger when I get there and 2: I don't know if I can take a knife to an animal I just killed to field dress it .... It's one of those things that there's only one way to find out I guess.

Congratulations to your son on his first deer.
I will hopefully be getting my first one next weekend (Nov 3-4)
It will be my first deer hunt, I have been twice for moose with no luck.

Foxer hunts? where does he find the time?? LOL

Good for the young man BC. I may have to get my kid to pass core soon and come for a look see in Reg. 7

Excellent idea... I've already got my nephew trained to clean fish for us. Maybe this is the year he gets taken deer hunting :).
