Turkish Gun. Semi copy of a Walther PPQ. Very inexpensive. One of the best resets and light trigger for a polymer gun on the market. Be wary of good trigger discipline. A friend of mine had one and sold it after he NDed safely down range. He didn’t trust himself with that light trigger.
OEM Mags were difficult to get and good holsters also. This was a year ago. May be different now as these guns are getting more popular.
 
The site sponsor who is not here anymore has mags but they are not cheap, though about $25. cheaper than PPQ mags for certain. If the Canik trigger spring is located on top where the PPQ spring is getting the trigger to +5lbs would just be a matter of changing springs. On the PPQ it is pretty straight forward. The trigger is apparently every bit as good as the PPQ and that is saying something. Had I not bought the two PPQ's I would be all over the Canik TP9FX. It just fits the IDPA box for SSP/ESP Division and would work in Optic Division as well.

My Canik always felt like a well built pistol...agree the trigger was just about the equal of the ppq..again Hope mags etc are becoming more available..quite a few striker pistols around now...best as always to handle them if you can...we all have our faves..

I've made up my mind! I just purchased the M&P9 range kit on sale. It actually comes with 4 mags, not the standard 3. Also ordered the Apex Flat Faced Forward Set Sear and Trigger kit. Now the waiting process begins. Thanks Ceej371 and others for the advice and convincing me to select this firearm combo!
 
don't forget to factor parts and aftermarket availability of such into your decision.

It is one reason why I didn't buy a walther.

It's actually far closer to a p99 than a PPQ, but yes, it is a fine budget pistol. My little brother recently picked up a TP9SFX and it a great deal for an optic ready pistol.

That said, I won't be selling my PPQ for a Canik.... OP the PPQ would be my recommendation to you. M2 if you can't get used to the paddle release.

That said, I'm sure you'll be happy with the M&P, especially with the Apex trigger.
 
Congrats on your purchase. I was going to recommend the new Ruger American Pistol. It holds differently than Glock's, and the Novak sights are terrific, and I can shoot it as well as the Glock. Very comfortable, very well made, great reviews, great value as well.

Hope you enjoy it. Id suggest shooting a couple boxes through before installing the apex trigger, for function/accuracy testing, and so you can appreciate how good the apex trigger is after you shoot it stock.
 
To the OP if you are going to get an Apex trigger get the Apex FPB as well. It takes 99% of any gritty feeling out of the trigger pull. It is an easy install.

This the FPB or SB if you prefer is the major imprivement you get with the Apex system IMHO. They domed the part you see when you remove the slide. S&W rounded the block when they brought out their PRO line but Apex did what some of the early gunsmiths were doing with their trigger jobs and went the whole nine yards. The Apex block makes for a very smooth trigger pull. Robt6440 you will really notice the difference.

Picked up my new M&P 9 this week. Stripped and cleaned it. Went to the range yesterday and put 100 rounds through it. Quite a difference from my all steel Shadow, especially in the trigger. Now I know what people mean by a gritty trigger, but still a pleasure to shoot! Looking forward to the Apex kit when it comes in. I'm also used to the blacked out rear sight of the Shadow. I found the 3 dot set up a little cluttered for my aging eyes so I blacked out the rear dots with a Sharpie when I got home. Can't wait to get back to the range this week!
