20 ga ammo prices?

If you feel like supporting the heartless conglomerate Wal-Mart, then the Winchester Universals in the 100 round packs are 30 bucks. I don't have a 20ga of my own, so I don't price it out at the gun shops I frequent. I can't imagine it being too much more, if at all.

Before people chime in here saying the universals are junk, and worthless and all that hooplah, I've been through the better part of 1000 rounds of them in various shot sizes and NEVER had a problem. They cycle through ALL 3 of my pump guns, and my single shot never fails to eject them.

$51.95 per flat (plus tax) for target loads from Hummason's in Ancaster. Premium pheasant loads, last time I bought a flat were around $130.00 (plus tax) from Lawry's in Caledonia.

Wobble Mart and Kanada Tire have Federal and Winchester cheapo 20 ga. stuff. Oddly, the 12 ga. stuff in Prince Albert have both Winchester and Federal at the same price. Any other city has the Federal stuff priced at $5 more.

A flat is usually 10 boxs of 25 shells for a total of 250. It is a flat open top cardboard box like how Coke used to be packed for cans and is how shells are shipped. A bunch of flats are then piled on a pallet.

Hummason's in Ancaster and Lawry's in Caledonia have 12 and 20 gauge ammo for around $52 per flat plus tax. I was at Hummason's yesterday and picked up some 12 gauge Winchester Super Target shells. Until tAF, do you shoot at Crumlin?

WSS and their competition sells for less!

I agree! It is usually the cheap gun's fault, but many are quick to blame the cheap shells. I don't mind the universals, but $30.00/hundred is too much!

You are correct on the amounts per flat, but the box is not open top unless retailer has cut them open.

Well, One of those is my $40 Savage, another my $100 Winchester, and my $80 Wingmaster. My most expensive shotgun, come to think of it, was my single shot that I got from Cabelas brand new.

I prefer the word "inexpensive" as opposed to "cheap". Well, except for the Savage. It's a cheap old beater. And it's pretty ugly. And loose. And other horrible things. But I still love it because it was 40 bucks. Can't really go wrong for a functioning firearm at that price.
