20 Vartarg for 100-200 yrd bench rest, your opinions?

Nice groups stubblejumper. I think I will prob order a barrel in the next couple of months most likely a shillen prefit that will give me at least 8 months to find dies and brass.
 
I just ordered a set of Redding 20 Tactical dies and bushings from Sinclair, it usually takes a couple of weeks or so to receive them. I am hearing that the Lapua brass should arrive late summer, but I am sure that I could have Remington brass in a week, if I needed some.

Then call up the Woodchuckden, and talk to Todd, the originator of the 20 Vartarg, he often has dies on hand, I actually got my Vartarg dies from him. He also has a very handy annealing tool, that works very well.

I have a Copper 20vt - shoots great (probably better than I can). I originally used some remington 221 FB brass and necked it down...........then one winter while looking for a little project, I made a bunch of brass from Lapua 222! I believe that it improved my groups. I'm using H4198 (18.2 gr) and 32 vmax - tried some 40gr vmax and they seemed to group really good as well - didn't have the crono with me, so I'm not sure what the velocity is with those.
