Considering we don't get any Izhmash firearms in Canada (to my knowledge), I'd go with Izhevsk.
Some of the dewat ak74s were izhmash marked. Not Tula as the majority were.

Don, we should go to my range with our SVT's and split on some cinder blocks. These beauties turn 'em into dust with one shot
Christ, fellas, if you're going to reply to someone with photos in their post, remove them. We don't need to see the same pictures 5 times in a single page.
Same place. Izhvesk before merger. Izhmash post merger of izhvesk and another complex.

Best I can do while keeping it SFW.
Gas tool? sling? Thanks!
I guess you haven't read through any of the previous posts and just want a quick answer, eh?
I've read it off and on,never saw a clear statement, guess I missed it, sorry. I take it the answer is no.Thank-you.

Some things I never want to see mentioned again:
1. Kovrov. Try Podolsk.
2. Naval. No it's not.
3. Sniper rail but no notch. A ‘sniper’ has both.
4. SVT-38 magazine. Actually it's early-style magazine.
(Aside: people replying and quoting all the pictures.)
But most of all:
5. Izzy. STOP IT.
Here you go my friend. All original parts. All matching with originally stamped, not over-stamped or electro-penciled numbers. Correct stamps on the stock. No repairs and no repair stamps on stock or rifle. So only shellac (one can see the traces of darker original shellac) is not original. It's still packed in cosmoline inside, but it looks like it is unissued, not like I care to investigate this further. I like her the way she is, maybe shellac will have to go. This is my compensation for all your snipers and svt-38 receiversDepends on the pic. If it's a hottie with a nice rifle, I don't mind seeing her pop up like 26 times.

No repairs and no repair stamps on stock or rifle. They even kept matching trigger group during refitting this one to SVT-40 configuration. So only shellac (one can see the traces of darker original shellac) and refitted trigger group are not 100% original and second change was made during the war for sure. Not sure about shellac.
