2000-3000$ scope, what would you buy?

I am also curious about the AMG, but for Nightforce money I'd pass. For the same price the Razor Gen II has more features than the AMG that I would be interested in.

I will review once I get it. For me, the reason I went to the AMG instead of the Gen II was weight. The AMG is almost 20 ounces lighter than the Gen II. Those will add up when using my gun for hunting.

I wanted a FFP scope and I seriously looked at the ATACR F1 5-25x56, but I couldn't find a decent enough deal on one to pull the trigger. Cheapest I found was $3900 + tax. so still $650 more than my AMG. Also I don't care for any of the reticles offered in the NF F1

20oz is a lot.

I'm guessing we're gonna see a slimming down of the high enders. Most of us aren't going to war. They're all so good now, short of major electronic integration, I don't know what else they can do other than get lighter???

Is a carbon fibre body a possibility?? Any one know??

I don't think you will save much on carbon fiber body. The majority the weight is from the glass and mechanicals.

Smaller tube 34 mm vs 30mm and smaller objective lense 56mm vs 50mm

Well it's not really in the Objective since the 3-18x50 Gen II Razor weighs 46.5oz while the 6-24x50 AMG weighs 28.8oz. The 30mm tube helps, as does slimming down the entire turret assemblies and removing the 2nd Rev Indicator. I'm assuming they did more inside the scope to reduce weight that they won't tell anyone about.

Do you guys think 34mm tubes are really needed, or should we be doing 30mm + rail + reticle??? I know how to do the math, but in reality are they needed??

Have you checked out the Kahles K624i.

I haven't actually, mostly because I have no idea who sells them and what they retail for. You don't hear too many people talking about them. I've looked through a Khales before and was very impressed. It was actually the first time I ever looked through an FFP scope ... I didn't really know what it was and didn't really grasp the concept. This was probably 7 years ago now when I first got into shooting.

I was eying up a Sightron SV, maybe some day I'll upgrade if I get enough use out of my RPR to justify the price.

I kinda like my FFP though, don't think the SV comes in FFP? Didn't look real close at available specs, wasn't spending that kind of cash at the moment anyway.

Another note on the XTR-II, it has a nice reticle and a zero stop but only has 8 mil per turret revolution. The scope with be going on a 6.5 Creedmor so it would be nice to get out to 1000m on one turret revolution. Not sure if 8 mil would be enough.

I used to have the T5Xi, pretty nice bit of glass, definitely worth having a look.

I've also got the ERS which I'm very happy with. Not sure what those things are worth nowadays, but back in the day, it was pretty good bargain.

Was also thinking about grabbing an XTRII to try out.
