^ Nice looking dog and rifle. It appears you guys still have snow. I checked out one of my coyote fields today and had to cross a 2 ft deep lake from all the melted snow.

Yep, still a bit of snow around Quebec city, it's walkable early in the morning....

I called this one in this evening. My first successful time out. A 200 yard shot, hit him square in the chest. He has a pinky size entry with no exit wound.

.308. It was a head shot...sort of. I think the Shot entered just under the Shoulder as the Yote went to take a drink: I couldn't find the Entry Wound and the Only Visible Wounds otherwise was the other side of the Jaw was blown out and a "Spray" about 3 feet long of blood and bloody chunks. I moved the Carcass for this photo. It also had very nice yellow eyes.

I do have another larger paler coyote hanging around but I haven't got it into range... yet.

I thought it was about time to get this thread going again.

Here is one from the other evening. I got set up and started in with the rabbit in distress and 5 coyotes just came running. I took the lead biggest male and could not get a another follow up shot. It was neat seeing a pack that large let alone calling them in.

thats a big dog too congrats, I gotta get out calling now that the hay is off, my mom sees coyotes chasing deer early in the morning in our bean fields.

heres mine I shot in early june right off the back deck at 285 yards with the .270. This coyote hung around our house in broad daylight, sometimes not more then 10 feet from our barn.

yup, it was heading for the barn with my choc lab 300 yards away barking its head off at it and it never paid any attention to the dog. I woofed it when it was 300 yards away, it stopped and I aimed for the neck but caught it in the lower jaw almost taking its head right off as well. It dropped in the long grass so fast I thought i missed because i didnt see it, but then I seen the bit of fur flying away lol

it had a real bad limp too thats why I think it was hanging around the barn so much.

its its ankle and I think it was broke at one time. Coyote was in very good shape and had pups but it must of made it hard to make a living, she sure hobbled pretty good.
