2011 Calgary Service Rifle Association match dates

That could be dangerous. I know when I try to run on my snowshoes I end up face down in the snow. I'd hate to fall on my rifle?

Anyway if I'm on days off I'd show up no matter what the temp/snow conditions. Could we combine a precision type rifle course of fire as well? That way guys could bring their bolt guns and semi's as long as they are still classified under the "battle rifle" class. I'd love to be able to shoot my CG 63 say at 600, 500, 400 and then my M1A at 300, 200, 100. Just a thought. Keep us informed!

Often in snow matches in the past, it has largely been the conditions that dictated the course of fire.

Have you been there for the ones that involved 2-3 hrs of shovelling to get the targets out?

I am not sure that a CG63 would be considered a battle rifle by most, but I am all for you shooting the pi$$ out of it. :50cal:

I guess you're right about the CG63. It is an old Mauser chambered in the appropriate calibre though so if you use your imagination it could qualify couldn't it? I just want to use it in competition is all. Oh and don't worry I'll shoot the pi$$ out of it.

Hopefully this match will still be a go after what I have just read in this thread. :(

You know me, so long as you can carry it on the run down, I am fine with you shooting it.:50cal:

How is the bolt on yours? Some seem tight, others move fast. Hard to tell what they are like though as I have seen so few cleaned up.

Carbon....the bolt on mine seems great, though I have little experience with these rifles to make a comparison. I spent hours taking the rifle apart when I purchased it, cleaning and tweaking it. She looks pretty good and shoots extremely well. I upgraded the front sights to a more fancy globe sight so my sight picture is way more natural and consistent. I love it! One day I might get myself a CG80.

Anyone is allowed to the meeting... it remains to be seen if CSRA members will be allowed to talk or vote. I'm hoping that they will and intend to be there.
