2011 CGN Saskatchewan gopher shoot. Thanks to everyone for coming!

I just double checked my ammo, tossed the sandbags and chair in the truck and pulled out the wash water jug. I'll take that into the shop today I think and clean it out. My shooting bench is sitting by the front door still, and my gas can is where it should be. There's garbage bags in the groover, and my cooking fork is out front too. I waterproofed the tent a couple weeks back and bought a brand new James Bond air mattress this week. I pulled the girls out of the safe to let them get some fresh air, and I'm heading up town soon to stock up on beer. Thursday night I'll toss some dogs and maybe a steak or two into the cooler, gas up the pick up and I'll be on my way friday morning. There will be a small convoy of trucks heading east on the #3 and #1. If you see any waving around the road, we're not drunk, we're just getting primed up. Some of the best gopher hunting is on the shoulders of the road...
 
We should be leaving Wednesday morning and arriving that evening. All the ammo's loaded and the guns are waiting to go. The camper's mostly packed. We just have to pick up some groceries and we're good. I gotta say that I'm not looking forward to the ten hour drive. You'd think we could have some entertainment along the highway. It's boring as hell. I think there's only two turns between my house and the campsite.
 
Well either Kim is still looking for gophers cause there aren't very many or there are so many he is still out creating the RED MIST.........either that or he can't get cell service
 
Or his Jeep over heated in Taber and he had to turn around and go home :(

Put some coolant in and everything seemed fine and dandy on the drive home....Nice 98mph headwind kept things normal....sigh...

Got home and determined the cooling fan motor was not working. Tore it apart, and lo and behold...I guess I got some mud in it the last time I went doors deep in a mud puddle :D

So we are at home, Jeeps all loaded up and ready for an early start!!! Should be there noonish tomorrow :)
 
I also made the realization as I was loading my gear that I only have about 450 rounds of .204! I coulda swore I had more like 8 or 900!!! :O

Be damned I am too tired and lazy to do any reloading tonight :( If the numbers look good I may have to load a couple hundred tuesday and wednesday! LOL!!

I'm 37 for 38 today again. Farthest was about 120 yards. The closest was about 18 inches.
Got some on me...:eek:

I think my .22 mag is quickly becoming my new favorite gopher gun! Had it for years and never really shot it much till yeasterday.

I'll be seeing you guys Friday afternoon/evening. Have to work a few hours friday morning, but I'm going in early so I should hopefully be on the road by 1:00 ish...

I'm pretty much good to go, just have to pick up some food and I'm set.

I'll be heading out Wednesday after work, so I'll be there after dark again.
