2012 Member Saskatchewan Gopher Shoot.

Thanks Kev...Im really busy these days with the new job...Pretty much only home weekends now.

Im in for a few bucks for sure...Ernie just bought a brand new .22 Lever action, but its in getting repaired after a few hundred rounds...sigh...its a Norc.

I am pretty sure he would love one of the scoped Savage packages :D

I have said in the past, the camp is what I go for...shooting gophers takes 2nd place, its more of a bonus :D

I will do some looking & pick something out & post the options. Knowing Ernie, a bolt action is the safest option. But there are several good & fair prices bolt actions out there.

I was thinking a 10/22 but maybe you're right, a bolt might be better and the Savages are great for the money. I guess it depends on what the kitty tallies up to as well. It'd sure be nice to see the farm boys shooting something that actually has some bluing on it and sights that weren't home made.

I actually put some money into the Cooey Kelly was using this year........Actually changed the rear sight elevator from a Nickle to a Dime.....lol

What is scary is the 22mag is not that old. Under 20yrs and was pretty nice at one time. I had cleaned up & shot quite a few gophers with it. Stainless synthetic is prob the best choice. But the kitty will tell too.

Just a reminder to those that promised some $$ for the Ernie Rifle project, it would be nice to see the money coming in. The christmas shopping season is coming up, adn the sales may be starting soon.

Thanks!
