In order to ensure that the range is available, and to try and eliminate the risk of being rescheduled by DND, the intent is to hold the 3rd annual Eastern Championships over the Canada Day long weekend (June 29-July 1st) next year at Connaught. While details are very preliminary at this early stage there has been discussion of running 2.5 days, and finishing up on Monday, July 1st at lunch so that folks can make their way home.
We certainly felt the absence of shooters from the Maritimes this year, and we are hoping by getting the date out early enough it will give everybody from down east time enough time to plan for it. I'm not sure how fixed the date for the Westerns is but I think it would be great to stagger the dates so that those who might be so inclined could participate in both.
Barry Price will again be the lead organizer for the Easterns, but he's asked for some assistance to try and promote next year's event. Since Barry is rarely on here he's asked me to try and build interest within the CGN community, and try and make next years' ECFRC the best yet.
If you've got any thoughts on things that could be done better/differently to make this event a must on your shooting calendars please let us know, either on this thread or by PM.
More details to follow as they become available.
Cheers,
Scott
