2013 Eastern Canada F-Class Regionals - SCORES ON POST #82

Glad to have you back again Bill! I heard a nasty rumour that a few more guys from up the line may be joining us as well, and that you'll be bringing a full sized rifle to shoot this year!

FTRRookie
I don't know if its a nasty rumour or not but I did have a new rifle put together this winter in a bigger cal. BUT I will still be shooting the 223 at the shorter ranges.
As for the guys up here coming to shoot I will be working on them I hope all is well........ Cheers Bill

The snow is starting to melt, and hopefully we'll be back on the range in a few weeks! We're starting to see some entries come in from some of our regular shooters, and also getting some interest from some guys in the US so hopes are high for a big turnout this year. Don't forget to get your entries in early and save $20!

I also wanted to thank Rene at X-Reload for sponsoring our event again this year. Rene has been generous enough to support us every year we've held this event, and it is very much appreciated. We're also going to try and convince him to come down for a day during the event with a trailer full of bullets, brass, powder, etc. I'll keep you all posted!

Cheers,

Scott

windborne11,
The old "family camp ground" is gone. They do allow tents and tent trailers only, one road closer to the range than the old camp ground. Those with bigger trailers and motorhomes have found a nice little space down at the shotgun range.

Rick,
The old "family camp ground" at Connaught was at the corner of Malibar Blvd and Bren Gun Road. The new area for tents and pop up trailers is 2 roads north (still on Connaught ranges) on the corner of Brouillette Road and Bren Gun road. Spitting distance to the DCRA HQ building and the mess hall. The cement tent pads provide a very nice patio area for entertaining and a short crawl to the washrooms.

I am very pleased to announce that Hirsch Precision has just come on board as a sponsor of this year's event. We are so fortunate to work with people and companies like Peter Dobson and Hirsch Precision, who have generously sponsored the Eastern championships every year that we've held them. We ask all our registered and prospective shooters to remember the companies who make events like this possible, and to support them whenever possible.

Rick: I'm just waiting for an answer from the powers-that-be on the availability of the sites you and Tom have been discussing. They are the ones on the other side of Bren Gun Rd. from the DCRA office, and a very short stagger from the wet mess.

Those are the tent pads I am talking about. A word of caution though... Depending on how many pops you have had, the gound isn't as even as it looks between the wet mess and the tent pads.

Sounds like you all should talk to Dr.Thompson regarding a golf cart rental. Just for the evenings though.
Cheers, Glen

Just a reminder that there is less than 2 weeks left to get your entry in if you want to take advantage of the reduced rate. Get those entries in now and save $20!

Happy to announce that we have made arrangements with NCRRA, and the championship and aggregate winners will be presented with cheques at the awards ceremony, in addition to all the great prizes that are now starting to come in from our sponsors. We've still got room left, so get your entries in!

Just a quick update for everyone; we've currently got over 30 shooters confirmed, with more entries expected in the next few days. Please note that we need your entries by the end of this week!

Prizes are starting to come in from our very generous sponsors, and it looks like we're going to have some great items to present to the winners, as well as draw for all those in attendance.

If you've got any questions, or need some help making arrangments to join us please let me know!

Scott

Registration for the event was supposed to close today but we've decided to leave it open until early next week to allow for any last minute additions. We've got nearly 40 shooters registered or with registrations "on the way" which is a significant increase over last year's event. With that said we have yet to receive a single entry from the Atlantic provinces, which is truly unfortunate. Apparently Peter Dobson at Hirsch Precision agrees, and he has very generously extended the following offer:

Hello All:

Spoke with Barry Price today and there is not even one entry from Atlantic Canada for the above-noted match.

A little late, but we'll pay $100 each for the first 4 FClass shooters from Nova Scotia who attend this match. Maybe others can help in getting shooters to the Eastern championship?

Regards,

Peter

On behalf of the organizers I'd like to thank Peter for really setting the bar when it comes to support for the shooting community in Canada, and for his continued generosity in sponsoring our event. I sincerely hope that we get some people to take Peter up on his offer.

As always, if you've got any questions or are still planning on attending please let me know.

Scott

Hey Matt - having another baby or what?? What's the reason (or are you coming to the Westerns again)?

... and congrats - hope to see you out shooting again soon!

yup- kiddo #2 arrived a month ago. Besides- it appears the $100 is only good for NS residents- Perhaps Mr. Duffy can help fudge the books for others from Atlantic Canada...

We're going to leave entries open for another 24 hours. We could still use one more shooter to give us an even number, but we probably can make room for another 3-5 guys. Still nothing from down east.

I will post a list of all the confirmed entries tomorrow night, but if you or anyone else you know is planning on coming please send me a PM, or even better your entry form tonight or tomorrow morning.
