2013 Member Saskatchewan Gopher Shoot.

Don't know why the hell I put the dang camper up. 20mm rain forecast tonight and tomorrow. Gonna be soaked when I pack it up for the trip. That'll be really nice to open up when we get there.

I have to go to Medicine hat tomorrow morning early...should be back around supper I hope!! MIGHT....maybe...just maybe...be out there tomorrow night.

I don't know what dispatch has in mind for me :( I am hoping to be off until Sunday morning....but legally they only have to give me 36 hours off....if that is the case, then it will be a Friday day trip.....fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone need last minute directions,

From Tompkins Sask Co-op, North on Sec 633 for approx. 10 miles.
This gravel road is arrow straight basically...as soon as it starts to turn to the left, make a sharp right!!!! Then go 5 miles East :) Seeya there!!!
 
Dunno when I'll make it. Maybe tomorrow night, maybe Saturday. Still have a bunch of acres to spray and haven't even started thinking about loading up yet. Wifey can't make it now either, so as usual all the plans from a month ago are totally shot to hell.

Thank god for beer.
 
Well, It hurts me to say I just can't make it this year. My basement flooded and now I'm down to 1 car which I can't take and leave my wife and kids without. Really, really sorry. It's been a stupid week for me. And I'm pretty angry that I'm going to miss it.

I tried to figure out a way to make it work, but I seem to have angered the gods this year. I haven't been on here for a while, and would have mentioned it sooner, but I was still hoping I could figure something out, and I have just been dealing with all this crap.

Well, folks. I gotta tap out. No leave for me. FNG gets the long weekend duty. Can't go more than 50km from the base this entire weekend. Luckily, I put in for this in April. Approved by my earlier chain of command, revoked by my current one. Been a L-O-O-N-N-G time since I was the FNG. But I am probably good here until I retire in 5 years.

Sorry, Andrew, you will have to shoot your own gophers this year. Shannon is NOT happy, she was looking forward to seeing everyone again this year (she really didn't care about shooting gophers, can you believe that?).

Nate: please employ your harmonica in my absence.

Kim: I hate being the guy who drops out at the last minute, but can't control my work schedule all the time. Wish I could get out even for a day.

Have fun all of you. I had so much fun last year, I will truly miss this event. Looking forward to Ernie's reaction and the upcoming pics when posted.
 
Harv. Put that thing in road gear! More acres faster equals a happy Harv! And all you need for stuff is a pillow for the truck, a cooler for the Guinness, and a .22...

Ted. I had to miss one because of work once too. Happens to the best of us! I've already got the harmonica hidden in the trailer. My wife keeps reminding me I don't "actually" play it, but tat doesn't stop me. Lol

I kicked her up to a blistering 8.7mph today, only 750 acres to do tomorrow now. :) the Guinness is packed, along with some fine Drambuie this year too.

Sorry about you folks that aren't going to make it this year. Here's hoping for everyone to make it next year...only 365 days to go now!
 
Well...made it to taber and the Fukcing jeep over heated on me. I am totally confused....I don't have a clue whats wrong with it :(

Dave offered to come get us, but I cant accept that no matter how well meaning :(

If anything we might load up the car and head on out tomorrow morning...maybe. At this point I am so frustrated with my Jeep I don't want to do anything but set it on fire and watch the fukcing thing burn.

I know what's wrong with it!! It's a jeep!! :) Seem to remember McGyvering it once so you could get home. Haha....

Also, it saddens me to say that I won't be coming either this year.

My Son will be in North Battleford this weekend and I am going to see him. 5 hours in the opposite direction as the shoot. This only happens 2-3 times per year, and as much as I love all you guys (and Gals), this takes priority. His birthday is July 1st and He wants to spend it with his Dad.

I apologise to you fine folk.

On the upside, it looks like He is coming to live with me! (Finally!) So I will bring him next year.

Have fun and have a beer for me. Maybe shoot a squeak or two. At least give Lawrence a hard time in my absence. :)

Another successful shoot!!

Not as many people were able to come this year, life just gets in the way sometimes!! I was only able to manage Friday to Saturday afternoon :(

Next year will be a bit different I think...not sure how it will play out yet...might be looking into a new location??

Next year will also be CGN "INVITATIONAL" Gopher Shoot Weekend ;)

Was so awesome to see everyone again!!!
