Mandatory here in Manitoba for most big game (not all). I only seem to feel the need for it when I'm hunting within view of the road. It's better than the white coveralls the old man had to wear when I was a kid. Stupidest safety idea every. Worked great until it snowed. Deer season, end of Novemeber. They would have called it a fail, but there were different four letter words for it back then.
 
I know of a couple of guys here in Ontario that thought blaze orange was stupid. One of them took a 180 grain bullet in the chest while walking down a road moose hunting and died in his tracks. Another guy was standing on a pole line talking to his father and caught a 180 grain bullet in the knee. They had to tie the leg off with a tourniquet and drive 2 hours to a hospital. He lived after a few surgeries. It's not that bad of an idea.
 
If we are going to get into this orange thing further lets start a new thread like we do every hunting season.

Leave this one for ABB's moose hunt.
 
Nice moose, ABB. No moose in my future this year. No need for it. Still got plenty from last year's. Only the two of us at home now...

Although, my cow was bigger...

I am 6'2" and 225 lbs and with a 1ton come-along, I couldn't get head shoulders off the floor.
