2014 BC Precision Rifle Championship June 13-15, 2014

I've had a couple people ask me if camping will be available in the biv site. Now that its not run by ASU I'm hoping this should be good to go(with rules of course). Might help folks on the fence about an expensive weekend.
The biv site... Where's that and who is ASU I am thinking about going and camping would be a possibility.

Hello All,

I am waiting on Bobs return from Sacramento, Bob is the BCRA liaison with CF and is the fellow to clear us for austere Quarters use, if available, we can look to book them , I will know for the end of the month. As for camping on range this has been recently reinstated Rules due apply in using the bivouac .... Primarily ZERO tolerance for drinking alcohol on range property ....also stated on entry form

A.S.U. = Area Service Unit
Bivouac is on the range property. It is a gravel camping/parking lot with picnic tables and out houses. Tents, 5th wheels, motor homes, campers welcome... It is free for the use of participants. No drinking water on site. NO ALCOHOL PERMITTED ON SITE.
I will have accommodation/camping information posted on BC Precision site soon.

Hello All,

Just a quick note, if someone would like to shot the match but does not have a rifle ...Yes you do I will loan a rifle to shooters registered in the event ,competitor supplies FACTORY ammunition and I will supply the rifle ready to compete , I have " several" available so I can equip several shooters , first come first served so to speak ... If rifle reserved I will bring to sight in day Friday
For zeroing and familiarization then Saturday,Sunday for match, local folks can meet me at range in mission to practice familiarize with rifles those that I know and trust ( and of course with valid pals ) I will loan the rifle to them and they can practice at there own time and return rifle at end of match ....I hope this might help new shooters to participate in the event and get involved with the BCRA .

I'm sure I'm going to get spanked hard (like a kid in the 60's) at this event. But here it goes, dropped my registration form in the mail last night.

Now it'd be really nice to get some practice shooting further then 300m between now and the competition....

The Club 600 started this week at Vokes Range. With the BCRA membership you can join in the practice. They have 1 day later this month and another in May at Vokes. My understanding is that since it is practice you can shoot your own practice to suite your own discipline (your own round count). Bring your own targets. You just need to coordinate with the red and green flag (cease fires). You will need to confirm this with Robert Pitcairn BCRA Secretary who runs the 600 Club.
Even if your Membership Card has not come, make sure you contact Robert you may be able to pick up your BCRA membership card at the practice.

As Ed said, there may be some other events that you can shoot as a competitor. This will give you an opportunity to send some rounds down range from the longer distances.
See the BCRA schedule http://www.bcrifle.org/misc/2014/2014-LMR-Schedule-Feb22.pdf

BCRA Members;
The first shoot for the 2014 year is being held at Vokes Range called Club 600. It is on Thursday, 3 April, commencing at 0900 hrs. We will shoot 3 x 15 rounds at 600 metres.

Do visitors need to be a member of the BCRA??? I'd like to compete this year but being completely green and likely not ready to try this I would like to come out and see what it's all about so I'm not a complete moron when I do.

Hello Katana,

Visitors are NOT required to be members of BCRA ....However letting us know of an impending visit ahead of time is recommended
So we are aware and prepared

Ed

Don't waste a drive all the way out there for nothing dude! Seriously if you are interested in this, sign up no matter what level you are at! Honestly it doesn't matter. If you can zero your own rifle then you have enough skill to give this match a crack! It's way too much fun not to shoot it. Nothi g to be intimidated about as its all like minded folks shooting along side you. And if you have questions or need help you'll get more answers/offers than you can handle. Think about it. No better way to learn than to get in there!

Hello All,

Ok folks ,an update re austere quarters. Austere quarters will NOT be made available to Civilians .Military May be able to obtain permission for their use but sitting insurance and liability concerns the quarters will not be available to Civilians as they were in the past .
