2014 Vancouver Island Precision Rifle Championship Nanaimo

Okay, October 11th will be our day for the match. Sorry to those that wanted November. So, a couple things of note.

1. I intend on trying to scrounge up markers as this will make my life, Paul's life and your lives easier. I will see what it is going to cost and I will post it to this thread.

2. Due to this being a one day affair this is how it is going to work for zeroing.
- Relays 1 and 2 will come to the mound together at each yardage, the 4 foot backer target will appear with two 1" grid targets, you get to fire two rounds, no more than two rounds.
- The target will then be dropped and indicators will be put in and will be displayed.
- The RSO will then clear your rifle and you will leave the line knowing what and where you need to adjust your scope to.
- You will then make the necessary scope correction off the mound while 3 and 4 are firing and be ready for your next stage.
- Relays 3 and 4 will come to the mound together at following relay 1 and 2 at each yardage, the 4 foot backer target will appear with two 1" grid targets, you get to fire two rounds, no more than two rounds.
- The target will then be dropped and indicators will be put in and will be displayed.
- The RSO will then clear your rifle and you will leave the line knowing what and where you need to adjust your scope to.
- You will then make the necessary scope correction off the mound and be ready for your next stage.
- Relay 1 and 2 will come to the mound with 1 shooting and 2 spotting and the range will go hot for that stage.

My entry is in the mail..... (but my shooting partner might not be able to make that date)

Gabriel will be tagging along with me again, he'd be happy to help Paul with the scoring/running of the event again.

FYI -

Anyone on the mainland may want to reserve a spot on the ferry ASAP, that's thanksgiving weekend and they will sell out. Horseshoe Bay Friday at 3:10 is already sold out.

I won't have room to take a person in my car, but if someone needs me to take their rifle and ammo for them (because the ferry won't let you carry one if you walk on) I can take it in the car for you.

So I have no partner for this match, but would love to come out and shoot. Any one else out there looking for a partner?

Or should I just mail in the entry and see what happens?

Can a newbie like myself who has never done a match come and try out ? I dont have a partner either....

I am pretty sure they will partner you up with someone when you get there - I am pretty sure there are a few people going without partners - myself included.
