2014 Western Canada F-Class Championships

Yes it's been beaten to death. So let's talk about places to stay around there. People that are going are you camping or staying in hotel.

I haven't signed up yet but it looks like myself and another fella are going to try make it from Sask.

Comfort Inn in Chilliwack is a good deal - get a ground level room (makes unloading the vehicle a bit easier when you can walk directly into the room) - about 20-30 minutes from the range, depending on traffic. Lot's of options for eating out - Timmees, Earls', etc. There might be camping on the range, but remember that DND facilities are 'dry'.

I understand the DND rules, I was wondering if there were any campgrounds close by that people would be using. I know nothing of the area. The camping night life is more fun than hotels in my opinion.

Beware the hill at 600m LOL

Ignore center court flags, they lie most times on this range, due to the road opening

Have fun guys! I'm not going myself, staying in Sask this year for most of my shooting, planning to take in AB and MB Prov's too.
Remember to read the mirage on the BC range, windage set at zero, and hold off, if needed...
Good luck to Dennis with his new BRX, Paul, Cal and Tom too if he goes, all SPRA members.

The best motel to stay at is the Vedder Inn which is about 15 minutes from the range. There is a pub right across the street and a good restaurant across the other way. For those, like me, who are addicted to MacDonald's coffee there is one about 2 minutes away. Perfect location. The Toll free number is 1-800-591-0181 or 604-824-7999.

This motel is very decent and caters to us gun people so we stay there all the time. You will have no issues with your guns and equipment. It is a 2 storey walk up with open walkways in front of the rooms. Parking is right in front of the rooms.

A suggestion is to ask for the lower floors so you don't have to pack your equipment up the stairs.

We're in. Is there anything in the rules about shooting the individual in F-TR, then shoot Open in the team thing? Just askin'.
Cheers, Glen

I see no reason why the 308 you own could not be used in f-open, some would welcome it : . )

Jeff

and this thread has been quite usefull to get the word out and create some interest amoung novice shooters and those who wish to compete at another level, I do not consider it being sidetracked at all, we all learn through discussion,

Jeff

Jeff, GT has FOpen rifles too, and I'm sure he wants to shoot his Coyote in FTR and his 7 mm in the team event and I see no issue with it since team is a separate event imo.

just trying to make him smile about me trying to get him to shoot a 308 in f-open, I knew he would like to shoot a 7mm in the open class,

carry on

Will depend on whether you are on the winning team or not.

If you are, then there is an issue. If you're not.....well......No problem then. Lol

Don't think it'll be an issue then. I can't pick the winning loto numbers or the fast line at safeway either.
Cheers

Doesn't seem to make any difference whether Glen shoots a 308 in the open class or TR class. Scores will be as high as any open gun. Need to watch out for the old grump!!

Thanks Eric, you need to watch out for me only as I'm getting old now........ bump into lots of stuff when I'm aimlessly wandering about :)
Cheers

Hey Glen,
Seems to be a trend, as I noticed some traditionally F Open shooters in the US, also running FTR in some matches. Keeps you from getting
tired of any one rifle and should help to sharpen the dulling pencil.
There is a reason as guys get older they get grumpy. Has to do with real knowledge and knowing WTF the TRUTH is.
If you meet an old and happy guy,
he's either gone senile OR well into his medical marijuana.
You've earned your Grumpy Ranking..........
:)

All Glen has to do is just remember what loads are in his ammo boxes and don't get them mixed up!!! "Jeez, I think I will shoot this ammo left over from a 19## match I attended somewhere I can't remember" Then he beats you with it!!!
