Spectators allowed?

I'm hoping :)

Would love to watch and see how the match is being done.

Don't watch. Come out and participate it's lots of fun. Don't worrie about winning or being the best it's all about having fun, learning some new skills, meeting some really nice like minded people.

In the past spectators have been restricted as Vokes is a DND range/property.There are sentries posted at the range entrance to keep people from wandering in.

You had to contact the match organizers to arrange attending the match as a spectator and the sentries had a list with the names of people coming down to watch.

But it has been said above, if you are coming out to watch, you might as well sign up and shoot the match. That is the best way to learn and everyone shooting the match has had a first time..... ;)

Well, I have a Savage bolt, 308 Win, detachable mag, 22" barrel with a 3x-9x scope with duplex reticle. In short, a hunting rig, not a sniper/tactical rig. Not wanting to be embarrassing.

Last year I used a Remington LTR (semi heavy barrel) no mag. I single loaded everything. I did alright. Could have done better with a mag and a heavier barrel, I could see my POI shift a bit on long strings.

Just checked out the BCRA website. Looks like my rifle better fits the F-Class hunting category.
Correction, F-Class factory sporter.

Might want to double check this mate. Last year at Service Rifle it was only open to Military and Non Canadians for Limited Competitive. I don't remember changing anything at the AGM...?

From the membership mail out
"3. Limited Competitive Membership allows the holder to compete in one BCRA Championship." "$35"
Makes it easy for people to attend. Even people from out of province.

Two people can share one rifle, only one person shoots at one time. I don't think I'll make the Chiliwack match but I'll be at both Nanaimo matches. I don't have a partner and would share my rifle. You would need 90 rounds of fgmm 175gr.

If you are able - you can always hot-gun with someone. You both share the rifle and shoot the match.

Thanks for the ideas and invite, but I also have zero experience with scopes, and anything long distance so I don't feel my skills are enough to be in a competition with someone of experience right now.

The years I was involved with running the match there were many new guys that had next to no idea what they were doing. However, by the time the match was over everyone one of them had a big goofy smile and had a great time regardless of how they finished.

If you wait until you are ready, you will never be ready. Plus, if you finish poorly we won't take away your birthday.;)

Hello All,

Course of fire up can be viewed at www.bcprecisionrifle.com .....to those shooters that are interested in shooting the match but do not have " Suitable" rifles (posters opinion not mine) I have lent out rifles in previous matches to people looking to participate in this match ( 3 rifles lent last year ) provided factory match ammunition is used , I will offer the loan of rifles again this year to registered
Participants of this match ,there are some obvious stipulations and requirements that must be satisfied in borrowing this equipment
But nevertheless rifles are available ,call me directly to discuss a possible loan of equipment

Good! I haven't received any package as of yet. Did we amend that at the AGM? I don't recall...

Good job on the COF Ed. I love that you brought the hotel back in. That's a favorite of mine! I also love that we are at 600m to start.
For anyone thinking about coming out to watch...just come shoot. Watching shooting is about as interesting as watching golf. There are no egos and attitudes at this match. You will get all the help you need and there is nothing to be embarrassed about! Everyone who I have brought into this match for the first time has not finished last. As a matter of fact most finish middle of the pack and some excel. There is a camaraderie here that you won't find in many other shooting communities. It is very welcoming and accepts new folks without issue. Bring whatever rifle you have and give it a go. If you are worried about you're rig give Ed a shout and borrow one of his. He has top notch gear for you to try. You won't disappointed and will have a great time!
