Prizes to be won!

- First person to get any gold star rating wins a dri-fit golf shirt (size Large), courtesy of Hewlett Packard. Congrats RTracer13!!

By definition: 1MOA = 1.047"
A circle with a 100 yard radius (distance from the center to the edge) would have a circumference of approximately 628.32 yards or 22,619 inches (100 x 2 x pi = 628.32 {pi is about 3.1416}). Dividing the circumference in inches by the number of minutes in a full circle gives a value of about 1.047 inches (22619 / 21600 = 1.047). Thus, changing a sight's elevation setting by 1 minute of angle changes the bullet's impact point by 1.047 inches at 100 yards. And the bullet's impact point would change by 2.094 inches at 200 yards (1.047 x 2) and change by 3.141 inches at 300 yards (1.047 x 3).

Good idea Trinimon, I look forward to all those capable of consistent MOA shooting posting up their proof.

It will be interesting to see what shooters with what rifles are really capable and who are just all talk.

So let the bragging rights begin...

Cheers D

Longest I can shoot AR's is 50yards, altho I can probably put a round in a fly's ####### at that distance.

Does the BLACK RIFLE have to be SEMI?

Also, does it actually have to be black?

A Black Rifle would include AR15 and their variants, M305\M1A and variants, Mini14\Mini30, Thureon Defense, Kriss Vector, SL8, SG542, Swiss Arms, XCR, ACR, Tavor, MR1, CX4, T97 or any other scary modern military-like rifle. Sorry, no bolt guns as I don't consider them a 'black rifle" and they should be in the precision rifle group.

I'm not playing until I see a whole bunch of stars beside, "honorable mention".
They don't have to be gold, but I want to see at least 4.

Just a thought..

Maybe sub-catagorize into different bbl lengths. Say 10.5"-14.5" & 16"-20" ?

At least the person with a short barrel doesn't have to compete against someone who has a purpose built SPR/DMR/Match Grade, purpose built type set-up.

I call BS for any of the 2 or 3 star finishes. I have an SL8 that has done the odd .6 or .4 MOA group but it is more likely a consistent 3/4 to 1 MOA rifle and honestly might be the most accurate a semi can get.
