2016 BC Precision Rifle Championship June 17 to June 19 2016

There are competitors that don't have a magazine fed rifle and they do just fine........So come on out and join in the fun!! ;)

Stage 5 I could see being difficult single loading... 30 seconds to fire 10 rounds @500M? 3 seconds to load, acquire, fire and unload each shot. That's some time pressure.

I'm considering it. I live in the area so I won't have to camp out :D

The prize table and the awards handed out in 2010/11 were excellent....... The only thing that now holds it back from the former glory days is , in my opinion, the lack of the awards and secondly the lack of a good prize table..... For an out of towner you are going to be looking at a thousand dollar bill by the time it's all said and done, so the concept of handing out a few cheap trophies and plaques to provide something more than bragging rights should be a no-brainer. A prize table is just the cherry on top.

Some good points -for me the attendance and shooting of this match would be in excess of $1K and when, over the Winter, I try to figure out which matches I can really afford to attend cost obviously is a factor - a factor that could be offset by the opportunity to win a trinket and the availability of a well-stocked prize table. I know this sounds quite superficial but the reality is that such things do factor into attendance at matches. I know there are differences in the games but compare and contrast the costs vs prizes available at Western F Class to the Precision Rifle Championship. Anyway, just my thoughts - hope all that attend have an awesome shoot and good luck to all.

I hear you. I know there about 4 of us in Calgary considering the drive our for the match, still sitting on the fence. I guess it will be sh*t or get off the pot before May 15 rolls around.....

I suggest you do take in this match. It is in fact a lot of fun and probably as close to a US style PRS match as we currently have in Canada. Stay at the Vedder River Inn, nice place and cheap with the match discount.

And Volkes is really a magnificent range, everybody should get at least one look at it.

The discussion here has certainly not been intended to discourage anyone from participating; rather more finding ways to bring the match back to former levels of wonderfulness.

If I can get my load and dope tuned in time I'd love to make it. But I can see what you guys mean about the cost for us Alberta boys.

The Prince George contingent is now registered for the match and we'll be tenting it at the Vokes Range campground. Looking forward to another great match this year!

Looking to get a a group from Calgary registered, what is the nearby hotel accommodation situation? What would you local guys recommend?

There is also free camping onsite at the Vokes Range if you want to keep costs down. You'll have to put up with people talking about their PR rigs all night though....:)

I've figured out what the hell is wrong with their site (bcprecisionrifle.com); if you've got an IPv6-enabled connection, their site has an IPv6 address, but it looks like the server doesn't respond on IPv6 properly. Dunno who added that, because it worked before and still does on plain IPv4, so someone needs to revert their change or alter their web server settings to properly serve the same content over IPv6.

Is there a discount rate at the Vedder River Inn again this year? I haven't seen anything yet but haven't had the time to call them either

The Vedder River Inn finally responded to my requests and has special rates for the event: Please contact them directly; 2016 Group Code BCPRE3 604 824 7999 or 1 800 591 0181
The accommodation information on the BC Precision site will be updated shortly to 2016 rates. They are slightly higher from the 2015 rates.
