But otherwise if you've never shot this match before YOU NEED TO COME AND TRY IT! It is a ton of fun and is challenging for all levels. No better match of this type in North America! Believe me I've shot lots of them. You won't find a better more fun group of guys and gals willing to help anyone with ANY issues/questions you might have.

I totally agree with this statement. Last year was my first time(never shot past 200y previously) and even though I was extremely green, relatively unprepared, and unable to attend the Sunday courses of fire, I had a fantastic experience and I've been looking forward to this match ever since. The people I met at the match came across as good guys(and one gal). I had more fun at that last competition than any IPSC qualifer or 3-gun match I've participated in. This year I've stepped up some of my equipment and hopefully some of my skills. Eager to get on the range and puncture paper!

2 weeks until crunch time!!!!!

For those looking for shooting bags and our other gear, JSA Tactical will have some products at the match all weekend long.

Will also be debuting our Tactical style shooting mat !!!!

Shaping up to be another great shoot!!!!!

Can anyone clarify the rule regarding muzzle brakes? My rifle came threaded for one from the factory but I had to add it after the fact. Is that allowed or do I have to remove it and put on the thread protector instead?

Hopefully the whole muzzle break craziness will go away. A muzzle break gives no advantage in these types of matches. If you don't like the blast from them PUT THEM on one end of the range together. Turning people away because they have a brake installed is ridiculous.

I absolutely agree. I run an AW so I get to have a muzzle brake (because its issued with it on) and the next guy does not. Makes no sense, muzzle brakes have become mainstream these days.
I don't get the complaining over brakes either. My shooting partner runs a surefire brake right beside me during practice, does not bother me one bit, I know what to expect when it goes off.

Here's a dumb question but I've never shot with a spotter before. Do most people still use mp/h for wind holds or km/h? I'm assuming it would be logical to be using the same units as there's a pretty big difference between a full value at 10mp/h vs 10km/h... Also, what do most people use as a baseline for speed for movers, for the purposes of making myself some new range cards.

There are well designed brakes, and those that are not.

Most brakes I have had experience with shooting beside don't bother me. But there are a few I have come across that are obnoxious to be beside.

But I do agree the muzzle brake rule is stupid.......either allow them for everyone regardless of if they are factory equipped or not, or don't allow them at all.

It's a mixed bag km/h or mp/h. 1/2 the field is old school some can do both.
Base line for movers can be hard. Last year my partner got a very slow mover and I got a fast mover that must have been walking like a robot or something the mover was waving around it was very difficult.
Last year the marage was so bad at times it was difficult to see the shoot/noshoot little lone spot shots.

I totally agree. For the most part it's the expensive factory/custom rifles that make the rule but an off the shelf rifle for the guy just starting out, or simply on a tight budget, that don't make the rule.
But for the record real shooters don't need brakes

Thanks! I guess I'll stick with km/h. Excited for this, should be lots of fun.

Is Friday still the sight in's? If so will there be morning and afternoon sight in's? I'd love to shoot the match this year after being away for a while. However, I have to work Friday night as well deal with something Friday afternoon near the home front. I'd like to be able to do the morning sight in, then blitz to make my appointment. No partner this year....so, I'd hook up with whoever needs a partner if I was to make it out. Lack of sleep I can deal with.....decisions decisions......

Will the two different sight-in squads be announced beforehand or does everyone need to show up at 08:00?
