Ok, so I'm interested in going down there for the week. How many Canucks go down there? Also, how much ammo should I bring if I plan on going for the week and doing the Tuesday clinic? I plan on taking two guns, not decided in which one I'll shoot just yet.

Also, where do you guys stay and how was the overall experience?

It's a great week with lots of shooting. We stayed in the Hampton Inn in Anthem which is 10 minutes from the range and was excellent value. The round count should or will be on the website but I brought 400 rounds with 2 rifles as I could shoot same ammo out of both. With unlimited sighters, you tend to shoot a lot more. Don't forget to request invitation from Michele Gallagher for your form to get guns into US.

There are two Hamptons. Both are about the same distance from the range north and south on Hwy17. Anthem is north and Happy Valley is south. Both are good. Ask for the Ben Avery discount. Drops the room rate down substantially.

I think it was suggest to stay on the north side, Anthem fewer cars broken into... make sure you bring in all your gear this year 2015 cars got hit hard lots of stuff taken.
 
Jeez. That's good to know. Jfarrell, did you have two loads made up for the match? One for mornings and one for afternoon? I understand the temperature spread between morning and afternoon is quite large.
 
I have been planning on going but would have to fly. The airline only allows 5 kg of ammo (I think that was the amount I read). How does one get 400 rounds down there? take empties and reload there? Ship it from here, drive across the boarder and ship it? Ship it to who?
 
Or find someone driving down that can mule it for you ... just make sure it's the same ammo as identified on buddy's form 6.

Almost made the decision to cancel due to the low CDN dollar but we managed to scrounge up some deals so Hotel is booked, Car is booked, BATF form came back in 4 days......all I have left to do is get in the loading room.

I'll phone you this week Steve.

Hi Richard, have a great shoot in Phoenix. My company has donated a "ShootersPac" electronic target system to the prize table there, I have to say it sure would please me if a Canadian were to win it.... so consider yourself to have an assignment, should you want one! ;-) I am pretty busy working on the e-target system that will be used for the US F-Class Nationals in Lodi this September, but if I can possibly spare the time I sure would like to attend the Berger SWN next month.... dunno if I should bring my irons-and-sling target rifle, or pick up an F-Class rifle again (last time I shot F-Class was 2002, and the improvements in equipments and the general level of shooting that have happened since then are almost unbelievable).
