Sorry for the delay in getting these dates confirmed but wanted to let everyone know that we will be running this year's Easterns from Friday July 1st, through Sunday July 3rd at Connaught Ranges.

Updates coming shortly to the event website, http://www.easternfclass.ca but feel free to post or PM any questions. Expect to see entry forms up early in the New Year.

Barry and I are still discussing but there will likely be a cap of 60 shooters again this year in order to keep things manageable.

Cheers,

Scott

bump for update....Scott ..everything ready??
When does registration open?
Are you planting Kentucky Bluegrass on the mounds this spring for a softer ,gentler experience?:)
Have you and Barry decided on a cap?
Regards
Gord

Gord,

Range booking is complete but that's about it at this point. Had to get the Marksman done first, and then there's work and 3 kids. We'll get on it pretty soon though. Probably can't do much on the firing poibts but we are working on trying to get them to switch to 2-ply in the outhouses to hopefully move towards that "softer, gentler experience" you're after! ;)

Entry form will be out as soon as we get confirmation from the CAF what our R&Q rates will be for this year. Cap will likely be at 60 just to keep things manageable, but Barry and I still need to close on that.

Hope all is well!

Scott

Thanks Scotty,
Will be keeping an eye on the website for confirmation....I'll bring my own paper if needed.
Heard the new barracks may even be finished by then..
Understand about timing with family, business and hobby.
Winter well

I'm doing baby steps right now. Just it a penny at 360 meters last weekend, first round hit too. Tomorrow I'm going back innawoods and I'll try to push it at 500 meters. Farther everytime. Baby steps.

Great Range, nice people, superb competition, BIG winds.

One of the best run matches I have shot - kudos to Scott, Barry, Admin and target pullers.

Some Team shooting on the Freshly mowed lawn....

As an intro to F class, it might be a bit intimidating but the support is excellent and the match was run with enough time for you to catch your breath

I really enjoyed my first time at Connaught and will be heading back in Aug for the Nationals... Any dates for that yet?

Jerry

Jerry: Nationals are Aug 10-12 this year but if I were you I'd be looking at spending the week here. Call it a hunch ;)

At the risk of potentially discouraging a new shooter, the Easterns are probably not the best spot to start shooting at long range. The NCRRA hosts their Victoria Day Matches which ARE a great option for a first competition as it's a little less structured, and we work our way back from 300 to 900m. If you are interested in doing more practice at long range I would highly suggest contacting the PQRA, and then consider joining NCRRA in order to participate in the weekly long range practices at Connaught.

Cheers,

Scott

The V-Bull is 5", and the bull is 10".

Yes, and it "moves" around the target in an irregular manner just to keep you on your toes......:)

As Scott mentioned, there is opportunity for "newer to this sport" shooters to gain some experience
and proofing their equipment prior to any "major' matches. It truly would ensure a more enjoyable experience
showing up at match , having a level of confidence in your gear and understanding the "flow".
Confidence IS comfort. Comfort IS fun.
Hope to see you on the green ...soon! Hopefully we won't max out slots and have to turn anyone away.
Register EARLY.
