With the spring turkey season just around the corner, is anyone else getting restless??

I cant wait until the 25th. Its going to be awesome getting out into the bush again. Im hoping to put my tags on a couple birds before the mosquitos get out.

Let the games begin....
 
I have a good sized one lined up. Been keeping tabs on him since the archery deer hunt last year. Salmon and Rainbow are up the river now. Great time of year.
 
I'm looking forward to turkey season, but this will be the first year in more than a decade that my son and I won't be sharing a blind on opening morning as he has a course the first week... no opening morning double header this year...

That sucks....you just need to make him proud and stick two tags on two birds in two days!! And I expect to see photos with a big arse smile on your face...

I'll do my best... two toms in two days and then scout for my son as he is guiding a buddy to his first gobbler on opening weekend.
 
Tried to get a turkey tag here in Ontario at Canadian tire, but computer didn't show turkey tag available to me? I thought they opened turkey to guys who didn't have turkey license?

Only after opening day...they give the first crack to hunters that have completed the course.....

Have you tried buying one online?

Seriously? Never heard that was the case.

At any rate, I am getting restless. I've been out coyote hunting the past couple of Saturdays and have heard and seen lots of gobbler action. Coyote hunting not only helps me scratch my hunting itch, it has the added benefit of running overwatch for the local turkey and deer. Whacked a good sized yote today and felt good to reduce the number of turkey and deer killers by one. :)

I have a countdown timer on my phone and know to the minute how much time before turkey season opens.
I must admit, hunting with my daughter has opened up a whole new dimension of hunting for me. I used to think I got excited before...now with her as my hunting buddy my anticipation is off the charts. Simply cannot wait to hit the fields with her!

And btw, sorry to break it to you OP but the mosquitos are out already in my area.
