2017 Ontario Spring Wild Turkey season

My season came to an end at 7:42 this morning. Not quite what i had in mind when I was hoping for a charge in. Good thing my Avian X hen wasnt punctured during the attack

Way to go! Turkey decoys seem to work as well or better on deer and yotes. I've always wondered if turkey decoys would help while deer hunting, or if a deer decoy would help when turkey hunting?

What did you drop him with? And where did you aim?

I dropped him with the turkey shell I had loaded in the gun. I was shooting 3" Kent #5. He took the shot to the vitals from 15 yards and dropped down 5 yards from point of impact. I wish I can say it was an instant kill, but it took about 20-30 seconds for him to expire. At least he died quicker then my opening day Tom

Another great year in the turkey woods! Due to work and family schedule my hunting outings were cut down but had an amazing year filled with action. Lots of Toms to chase and did not have one hunt were a bird didn't work in, not all were successful due to too much brush or this or that but that is the usual, always had birds on the go though. Many more memories made with friends and family all having success. Here are some of the birds we harvested.

Started off with a bang on a soggy opening day double with the old boy

He was done on day two, April 26th. Pig of a bird at just under 25Lbs! His opening day bird was 23Lbs!!

Wife and daughter got in on the action too

Wrapped up my season this past Saturday with a stud of a bird!!

Good luck to those still out chasing for the last few days!! Toms are on the move and chances are good for an encounter!!
