Now Patrick has the pleasure of chasing another turkey to try and top his first. No easy feat now that he set the bar so high.

My first wild turkey. Been hunting turkey for 4 years without harvesting one so this is awesome. Opening day at 10 am. A lull in the rain and this guy came out with another male to the decoys. My buddy and I almost had a double. 9 inch beard, spurs just over 3\4 inch. Didn't have a scale but guessing 20-22lbs.

Good job partner... good on you for sticking with it... turkey hunting isn't always a instant gratification sport.
Well done. The field looks pretty familiar....a muddy soup bowl like the ones many of us were in on opening day
Not many at all 1963 Out of all the years of hunting these things I got one Ice pictures many years back. I thought when you have the chance Jump on it ! lolWell done Adrian. How many photos can you say you’ve taken with a harvested bird on snow!?! What a crazy spring for weather!
I was stuck working dayshift the last couple days. Working nights tonight and tomorrow so my only chance was to get out this morning. I have been watching this tom for the last month. He had about 10 hens with him and was the lone tom in a very small block so I set up in the dark on the lee side of the wind with a full strut decoy and two hens. On fly down he landed about 5 feet behind me and gobbled. Scared the daylights out of me. He jumped the log I was leaning against and was no more than 3 feet from my left side, all I could do was freeze and stare straight ahead. Crazy thing is my heart beats faster with these birds than it does when a 300 plus bear comes in. He charged my tom decoy and started spurring it like it stole something. Shot him at 15 yards.
Remington 1187 turkey sp with a remington extra tight turkey choke and Kent 3" #4 turkey load.
I love it when a plan comes together!!
