Got my new 22/45 with the threaded barrel the other day and took it out for a spin today. First impression is the trigger sucks :(. I don't have a trigger scale but I would guess it's about 6lbs plus it has about 6" of creep before it stiffens up for the break (gross exageration but you get the idea). The reset is very short so that is good. Because of the trigger I didn't get the best groups with it but when I used a sand bag rest and moved the target to 7yds I shot 15 rnds into a hole you could cover with a dime so the potential is there. Freehand though I could only get maybe 6" groups at 15yds. I'm no ace shot but with my M17 I can usually shoot 2-3" groups.

On the plus side I put probably 300rnds of Win M-4 ammo through it wih no malfunctions at all.

People on other sites suggested I get a Volquartsen drop in trigger group and it looks like it may be a wise investment. I may wait until I have a couple thousand rnds through it first though as it may improve with time. TC

The VQ trigger is a good upgrade. Even better is a target hammer as it will give you more of a reduced pull. Both together are great. If it's a mark III some mark II hammer bushings and removal of the mag disconnect are the most important upgrade IMO. Your mags will drop free and you will be able to use Mark II mags as a bonus. They tend to seat easier as well.

Volquartsen accurizing kit is well worth the money. If you buy one for the MK II along with a MK II hammer bushing it gets rid of the magazine disconnect as well.

Is this the Mark III 22/45 Lite or the regular Mark III 22/45 (not Lite)?

This is the "not lite" version with no open sights.

Thanks for the replies, now the hard part, where can I get VQ stuff in Canada? I know Brownells won't ship trigger parts here. TC

Yes they do. You just have to keep the order under $100. So if you want the accurizing kit you need to get the black trigger MK II one ($99.99) in a single order and anything else in another. Otherwise order the parts separately if you don't want the whole kit.

I ordered the volquartsen trigger and bushing to remove the mag disconnect last month from brownells. Came to under 40$ no problems and now the trigger is awesome...

I sit corrected. I thought trigger parts were on the verboten list. I tried to order a compensator last week and they won't ship those without a permit. Looks like I'll have to look at thier trigger stuff. Thanks! TC
