.22 Ammo Stash

This may be something you guys might want to look into if you have a stash or even a box of Winchester M22 *Double powder charge*
http://www.winchester.com/library/news/Pages/s22lrt-recall.aspx

And I've seen them at Canadian tire... I don't know why I've never grabbed a box..
How do they run through a Ruger 10/22, Walther p22, and Sig mosquito??? Thanks!

Yes, Winchester seems to be plagued with this problem. I recall back in the early 2000s there was a recall of Winchester 22 Wildcat due to this same issue.
Wonder if they can say "quality assurance"?

I am impressed by your feedback score.

Interesting thread - I have stopped buying ammo because I have at least a few thousand rounds. Alflahertys had 200 boxes for sale a few weeks so I stocked up. And yes I did leave some for others.

If you guys like the Federal 525. I was at Richmond Hill crappy tire today and they had 6-8 boxes of it for $28.99 I think. This was at the end of the day, so if you get there morning time I'm sure they will all still be there.

I just bought a couple from Burlington crappy tire. They said they finally got their back-order shipment filled but I don't know how many that was. But don't horde people. Grab a box or two and move on. To 'stock up' will just drive the price up for everyone.

True hoarders don't have to worry about the price going up, for a very long time.;)

Well family day at the range and we used almost 4 bricks of 22lr, lots of nice 10/22s at work.I tried the GSG 110 drum mags and personally I think they are garbage never better that half dozens rnds then jam FTF is the problem. My local CT got a family visit and they had a unadvertised case price on Winchester 22lr HP . Ibought 10 bricks out the door with tax for $302

I have only recently noticed a shortage and only of decent ammo. Still lots of crappier stuff around. I try and replace what I shoot weekly. Just picked up a 357Mag so I am sure my 22lr purchasing habits will slow down to a trickle.

EDIT: Not all 22lr, 9 boxes are a mix of 12ga, 9mm, 303 and 357.

I was just organizing my gun room today, so i decided to take an accurate count. My .22 stocks are more depleted than I had estimated earlier. Here is the .22 round count:

Federal Bulk 525.........5325
Federal Auto Match......3175
CCI Blazer..................1600
CCI Stinger..................870
Remingon Subsonic.......400
CCI CB Long.................128
Federal Champion.........100
Federal Action Express....47
Remington Yellow Jacket.45

Total: ....................11,690

The quantity of Federal Auto Match is probably my biggest concern. One of my semi-autos uses this exclusively and another only uses this or Stingers, which are twice the price. The Auto Match is getting hard to find lately. At my current usage rate I will be out of Auto Match in about 6 months, hopefully more will be available soon.

I've stopped buying 22's because the last time I went I bought a new shotgun. That plus I have plenty for my shooting needs at the moment. I'm floating around 32k. Mostly Winchester m22's and rem buckets.

Why shooters in Canada could be "short" on their stock of CCI Mini Mags blows me away...
WOLVERINE has the 22 LR 36 gr HP Mini Mags @ 7.99 per 100 - shipping is cheap!
I'm just north of Toronto and I bought 'quite' a bit from them...

Ya right. It's $43 to ship 1000 rounds to Aurora Ontario. That's not cheap.
I can ship a shotgun, which is over sized parcel for $50 anywhere in Canada.
That's why their mini mags are 7.99 the shipping is where they make money.

I have this much, more or less. One of the ammo cans has a bunch of Ely and Lapua .22 match grade rounds. The clear plastic container is a mix of all the ammo i pulled out of old range bags, camper, quads, boats and partial boxes. I had 2 of them but im down to one now. Some days I think I have enough and other days I feel I need more. A good sale will win me over every time.
