.22 and the Newbie

IMHO, there's always a place for a .22lr handgun in one's stable. The basic principles of stance, sight picture, breathing and trigger control can all be worked on with a .22lr handgun. For me logic says if one can't shoot a .22lr handgun accurately and consistently then how can one expect to shoot a larger calibre handgun accurately and consistently? You pays your money, you makes your choice. Everyone is different so YMMV......

I'm a newbie as well. Bought a Sig 226 E2 9mm. Love it. Then I bought a Ruger Mk3 22/45 with the replacable wood grips. The Ruger has really helped me with my groupings on both guns. What a great way to get lots of trigger practice at a low price. $380 for the gun and just over $20 for 525 rounds of .22. I can't afford 1000 rnds/month of 9mm but I can afford 400 rnds of 9mm and 2100 rnds of .22. This way I get 2500 rnds a month for $200.
